Rowena Skerritt, Office Manager - Furniture, Birmingham
I joined Corporate Express in 1998 shortly after the company had been through various mergers and acquisitions. I was based in Surrey and my role as Purchase Ledger Manager was a very challenging one and involved considerable procedural streamlining. In 2002 head office was relocated to Birmingham and the decision to uproot my family and move 150 miles away was not a hard one to make.
I work with a very motivated and competent team who are driven to get results. As well as managing the department I am also involved in numerous projects, events and charity work. As a result no 2 days are ever the same. Since joining Corporate Express I have seen the company change dramatically and it is still changing, as it continues in its pursuit of excellence. Jemma Hoyle, Account Co-ordinator, Wakefield
After moving from Lancashire to Yorkshire in 2002 I joined Corporate Express as a Helpdesk Administrator in Wakefield. I didn't have a lot of experience in Customer Service but it wasn't long before I realised that it was something I really enjoyed. My main role was to answer the phones and deal with the many different queries and problems and also to process orders onto the system.
Everyday is different and one thing that I really enjoy is building up rapport with the customers. It's nice to get to know the people that you deal with everyday and it also makes it easier if any problems arise.
After working for one and a half years as a Helpdesk Administrator I applied to be put on a training scheme which could result in promotion. I have worked hard through the training and have now achieved my goal of account co-ordinator. This means more responsibilities within the team that I work in and I am basically a deputy to the Team Leader.
Corporate Express is a fun place to work. The people are friendly and good to work with and there is always some social event to attend. There are many career opportunities at Corporate Express and I would recommend it to anybody as a great place to work. | | Ryan Shaw, Warehouse Assistant Fast Pick, Birmingham
I first started working for Corporate Express in 2000 having taken up a temporary warehouse position whilst I was studying at college. Having completed my studies I enquired about any permanent positions at Corporate Express and was delighted to be offered the role of Warehouse Assistant in the Fast Pick section of the Birmingham warehouse. The warehouse is a very fast moving environment and I am part of a well respected, dedicated team of order pickers in what is one of the most technologically advanced and efficient warehouses in the industry. | | | Craig Stevens, Key Accounts Sales Executive, Key Accounts
I began my career at Corporate Express in the IT department as a computer operator and progressed within IT until two years ago when I took the opportunity to join the sales team. My current role of Key Account Sales Executive is a very diverse one and no two days are the same. I enjoy the challenges of sourcing products for customers and take great pleasure in delivering on the promise that we are the best in the business.
I really enjoy working for Corporate Express as they notice hard work and reward the results that you achieve. The people I work with I class as friends and not just colleagues.
I would recommend Corporate Express as a great place to work because it is a fast moving, forward thinking company, that offers a working environment where your opinions matter and where the tools, motivation and support is provided for you to progress your career. | |
